The Entry Protocol
Dog CLUB is a collective of dedicated dog owners in the Grand Rapids, MI area. If you are interested in joining the Kith, please complete the application below. We will follow up to gather basic information, conduct a brief interview, and determine if your team is a strategic fit for the current group dynamic.
This is a multi-step engagement by design. It is intended to weed out those who are not dedicated or determined to work with their dog in a way that enhances the animal's life. We prioritize enrichment activities, continual learning opportunities, and the unique, yet guarded, social environment of our Dog CLUB.
The Philosophy of the Welcome Dog
CLUB is not designed for "just the good" or "just the bad." It is not restricted to the family pet or the working service dog—it is designed for the dog itself and the specific relationship they share with you. Based upon the European model that a well-behaved dog is a welcome dog, we meet in public spaces and urban corridors to work toward achieving that "welcome" status.
The Digital Hub and Social Collective
To support our field-work, we utilize a private digital portal that serves as our mission control. This space is where the practical logistics of a social club meet the reality of dog ownership.
Logistics & Coordination: A centralized calendar for our meets ensures everyone knows the "what, when, and where." We use this space for digital discussion before a social gathering to coordinate supplies and goals—ensuring the focus remains on the dogs once we are in the field.
Enrichment & Insight: The portal provides a library of enrichment training and specialized pieces—like Games to Play on Rainy Days and Puzzle protocols—that you can implement at home.
Community & Commiseration: Beyond the training, this is a private space to share photos, celebrate successes, and talk through the struggles that only fellow handlers can truly understand. Whether we are commiserating over a rough session or providing peer-led insight, the digital hub ensures the bond of the Kith remains strong between our physical meets.
